Congratulations King School!
The school enjoys a diversity of 31 different spoken languages and is comprised of 46% Asian, 35% Caucasian, and 19% of a mixture of several other cultural groups. International Night and other traditions showcase this diversity through collective stories and is an expression of the roots and values of the school community as global citizens. The tradition of respect honors the school’s namesake Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. His philosophy that all people count, all people matter - permeates the daily lives of staff and students.

"Today APIAVote-Michigan staff and volunteers successfully registered over 100 voters on University of Michigan and Michigan State University campuses,” said Theresa Q. Tran, Executive Director of APIAVote-Michigan. Her group was one of over 2,000 groups across the country—including 317 Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) groups—participating in National Voter Registration Day, the largest single-day effort of the year to register voters. Course Description

Writing is a skill, and best improved by practice. In this class, you'll learn simple but powerful methods to get the ideas out of your head and onto the page: how to analyze a topic, create a thesis statement, organize your writing, support your claims, add humor and style, and other tips and tricks to become a better writer. We will do some work on vocabulary and grammar building. But mostly we will practice writing. Short writing exercises will increase your skill, confidence, and speed as you face the ACT and SAT essay exams, as well as other writing projects. Bring a notebook and pen. *No class on 2/23/2014.
