This is the biggest community-building night of the year for King, and is the only one dedicated to celebrating King’s amazing diversity. The school, the building itself, IS the seat of the community. For many diverse and newer King families, International Night is often the first time the kids or parents truly feel a part of the larger school community that many of us enjoy the rest of the year.
Moving the venue will lessen the high level of participation, and it will diminish the feelings of ownership, inclusion and identity that are felt by parents and kids. Holding this event in the school building itself, crowding and all, is a powerful symbol for the inclusionary, welcoming spirit that defines King School.
